HIRSCH’S BUSINESS WOMAN ACHIEVER OF THE YEAR GALA EVENING
Excitement is mounting to see who will be the KZN Branch winners of the MARGARET HIRSCH WOMAN IN BUSINESS ACHIEVER OF THE YEAR competition! A Gala evening is being held at the Hirsch’s Umhlanga Branch on April 21 (7.00 for 7.30 p.m.) to announce the winners from Hillcrest, Superstore (Umgeni Road), Umhlanga and Ballito. The winners in each area will win a R10,000 Hirsch Voucher, and the Runners Up, R5,000 for second place and R2500 for third place.
Margaret started the competition after winning several awards herself over the last four years – culminating in her award at the end of last year for the CEO Magazine and Titans Of Africa’s Most Influential Woman in The Retail and Wholesale Industry in Africa. “Winning these awards has been wonderful – both for Hirsch’s and for me personally, and I would like to see this happening to other women in business.” Margaret explained when she decided to launch the Margaret Hirsch Business Woman of the Year Award in each area in which Hirsch’s operates throughout South Africa. “As women, we tend not to be assertive enough. There are so many fantastic women out there who are not coming forward to be acknowledged for their contribution to the business world, and I this was my way of encouraging them to come forward and enter the competition.
