Marshall Security is looking for candidates to be trained in a learnership to be control room operators and is offering a 12 month training opportunity.
A total of 7 learners will be identified to complete the programs during the 2014/2015 years.
The Formal programme will commence in September 2014 for a duration of 12 months to provide learners with the appropriate knowledge and skills needed to perform their basic functions as control room staff.
Entry Requirements:
Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
Must have no reason preventing them from registering as a grade c security officer with PSIRA. I.e. no criminal convictions
Minimum D aggregate Literacy skills (English)
An ability to verbally communicate in English fluently.
Would suit recent matriculant
The following documents will be required from applicants:
A CV
Copy of your grade 12 certificate or grade 12 subjects including results.
Copy of the front page of your ID book
Shortlisted applicants will also undergo psychometric testing, interviews and health assessment including testing for recreational drug use.
Integrity testing (Polygraph testing)
Police clearance and back ground check.
Due to the nature of the job and environment you will work in it is a requirement of the learnership (as well as future employment) that you will be required to randomly undergo ongoing drug and alcohol testing and integrity testing.
You may have to travel to the nearest approved learner centre for theoretical training. Should this be outside of Durban the costs of transport and accommodation will be provided by the company.
What is required from you
Marshall Control room trainees must sign a contract to work for us for at least double the length of the programme completed. If a learner does not complete the programme successfully, he or she will be liable for programme and administration costs.

Security officer grade E
Security officer grade D
Security officer grade C
Registration of above grades with PSIRA
Computer training up to and including ICDL
Level 1 and 2 first aid
Basic fire fighting
OHS act training
Training of the functioning of Alarm systems
Training on watch manager control room software
Training on street guard monitoring system
Training on guard monitoring systems and use of electronic ob Dealing Emergency call taking and dispatching.
Training on legal aspects of the job
Training on use and installation of alarms
Optional
Firearm competency business use handgun
Firearm competency business use shotgun
Registration of competency with SAPS
The learner is paid an allowance. The allowance is intended to cover your out of pocket expenses.
